The court document says the victim told police he went to the business to meet a friend who works there and spotted "some people" who had previously been trespassed from the business due to their behavior. The criminal complaint says investigators used surveillance video to identify the two men as 27-year-old Jordan Tylerlee Smith and 18-year-old Solomon Ojulu Obang.

The charges brought against Smith in the case were dismissed last month. The motion to drop the charges filed by the Olmsted County Attorney's Office indicated the decision was made "in the interest of justice."

The charges against Obang alleged that he was seen taking what was described as "an aggressive stance" in the video recording of the incident. It also shows Obang throwing the first punch in the altercation and then kicking the victim in the head in a "stomping-like motion." The criminal complaint says the victim suffered a brain bleed from the assault.
