Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The charges brought against a Rochester woman earlier this after another woman was rushed to the hospital with multiple wounds from what was described as an apparent stabbing have been dismissed.

Court records indicate 35-year-old LaShenda Dillard was arrested in September after Rochester police received a 911 call from an apartment complex in southeast Rochester. The documents say the responding officers established a perimeter around the residence before the victim emerged with multiple wounds to her abdomen and a laceration on her leg.

According to the criminal complaint, police entered the apartment and took Dillard into custody after finding her pants covered in blood and blood spotted across the residence. The charges stated that a search of the home led to the discovery of a meat fork with blood residue on it, a steak knife with blood on it, and bloody articles of clothing.

Dillard indicated she had been drinking and got into a verbal argument with the victim, but told police the woman was not injured in the residence. The charges say the officers briefly spoke with the victim in the ambulance before she was transported and indicated she became strained and appeared to be in significant pain.

The court document says the woman required surgery to repair multiple stab wounds and lacerations.

Dillard was charged with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and a misdemeanor count of domestic assault, but those charges have now been dropped by the Olmsted County Attorney's office. The motion declaring the dismissal of the charges cites "evidentiary issues."
