That’s according to a news release issued by MnDOT. The project's completion also marks the end of a detour that was in place during the work.

The bridge replacement project happened along Hwy. 30 west of Chatfield. On April 17, crews began replacing the bridge that crosses Mill Creek in western Chatfield and the crossing at the north fork of the Root River, which is just under five miles west of Chatfield.

Along with replacing the bridges, construction crews also added space under the Mill Creek Bridge for a future multi-use trail. The new Mill Creek Bridge also features new separated walking and biking paths.

MnDOT says the work on the Mill Creek Bridge this year will also protect the structure’s underwater footings against future erosion. Hwy. 30 traffic had been detoured to county Rd. 2 south of Chatfield and rejoined with the state highway west of the Root River crossing.

The more than $6.3 million project finished on schedule, according to MnDOT.
