DWI Suspect Crashes at Stewartville School During School Day
Stewartville, MN (KROC-AM News)- A woman accused of having a blood-alcohol concentration four times over the legal limit is set to face charges after her vehicle crashed into a snowbank at an elementary school in Stewartville.
Olmsted County Sheriff’s Captain Tim Parkin said Thursday that deputies were dispatched to the school at 3pm on Monday. They were called to Bonner Elementary on the report of a vehicle that had crashed into a snowbank with a passed out driver behind the wheel.
Deputies made contact with the driver who came to and struggled to identify herself, Parkin said. The driver was eventually identified as 32-year-old Jennifer Hanson.
Parkin said a preliminary breath test put Hanson’s blood-alcohol level at 0.32. She’s expected to face a 3rd-degree DWI charge.
Parkin said the crash occurred around school dismissal time but it doesn’t appear that Hanson was there to pick up a student. The vehicle crashed into a snowbank that’s located in the school’s east parking lot.
