Fentanyl Found in Mattress Leads to Prison for Rochester Man
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A drug bust involving thousands of fentanyl pills has resulted in a prison sentence for a Rochester man.
Olmsted County court records indicate 28-year-old Hussein Abdirahman Sheikh-Adam was charged last summer in connection with a Rochester Police Department narcotics investigation. The criminal complaint in the case says investigators executed a search warrant at his home in the 200 block of 1st Avenue Northwest after conducting multiple controlled buys using a police informant during July and August in 2023.
Police Say the Drugs Were Found Hidden Inside a Mattress
According to court documents, Rochester police confiscated a bag containing more than 3200 fentanyl pills. Investigators found the drugs hidden inside a torn mattress inside Sheikh-Adam's home.
The criminal complaint states that Sheikh-Adam told police investigators that he would pickup around 1000 fentanyl pills at a time from a contact in the Twin Cities. In his statement, he also admitted selling the pills.

Sheikh-Adam was charged with one count each of first-degree drug sales and first-degree drug possession. He entered into a plea agreement in February and admitted to one of the first-degree drug possession charges.
The Rochester man was sentenced this week to 65 months in prison.
