Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A former Stewartville man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for child sexual abuse.

45-year-old Daniel Kenney, who most recently had a Hutchinson address, earlier entered guilty pleas to two counts of first-the degree criminal sexual conduct through a plea agreement. The sentence he received today is at the high end of the presumptive sentence scale for a first-degree criminal sexual conduct conviction.

The sentencing order also indicates he will be under supervised release for the rest of his life once he completes his time in prison. The judge did give Kenney credit for the 195 days he has already spent in jail.

He was accused of sexually abusing at least three young children. Court documents indicate he was accused of engaging in sexual contact with a boy under the age of 13, the boy's younger sister beginning when she was seven years old, another young girl told investigators the abuse began in November 2018 and continued for nearly 3 years.
