Four Hospitalized Following Crash in Southern Minnesota
Owatonna, MN (KROC-AM News)- A two-vehicle crash in Steele County sent four people to the hospital Sunday evening.
The State Patrol responded to the crash along Interstate 35 near the Straight River Rest Area, which is south of Owatonna. It was reported around 5:40 p.m.
The state crash report indicates a mini-van and pick-up collided in the freeway’s southbound lanes. The van driver, identified as 75-year-old Richard Burton Anderson of Albert Lea, and his three passengers, 72-year-old Betty Lou Anderson of Albert Lea, 51-year-old David Richard Anderson of Albert Lea and 48-year-old Teresa Marie Raatz, were all brought to a nearby hospital for treatment of what are being described as non-life-threatening injuries.
The two occupants in the pick-up, driven by 22-year-old Kasey Ray Manges of Albert Lea, were not hurt. Alcohol was not involved in the two-vehicle crash and all six of the people involved were buckled up, the report says.
The Steele County Sheriff’s Office and Mayo Clinic Ambulance also responded to the crash.
