18-Year-Old Rochester Man Charged for High Speed Chase on Hwy. 52
18-year-old Noah Nehemiah Leonard of Rochester is charged with felony fleeing and misdemeanor speeding.
The criminal complaint says a state trooper who was parked on the shoulder of Hwy. 52 near 37th St. Northwest saw a car driven by Leonard traveling noticeably faster than northbound traffic.
The trooper’s radar indicated the vehicle was traveling at 106 mph in the 60 mph zone, the court document says.
Leonard cut off the car’s lights and was seen cutting across all three lanes of northbound Hwy. 52 once the trooper activated their squad vehicle’s lights, according to the complaint.
The charges say Leonard exited Hwy. 52 at 37th St. with the trooper still in pursuit. Leonard then ran a red light before returning to northbound Hwy. 52 at a speed that peaked at 90mph, the charges allege.
Leonard stopped at Hwy. 52 north of the 41st St. exit. He was then taken into custody.
Leonard was released without bail following his first court appearance Monday morning. He’s due back in court this Fall.
