Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- One man was injured following a crash at a Rochester intersection that frequently sees accidents.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says the intersection has a "sustained history of crashes." Wednesday's crash came less than a week after a three-vehicle injury crash at the same intersection. 

A project to build a roundabout at the intersection is scheduled to start early next month.

Two vehicles were involved in the latest collision. The injured driver had a passenger riding with him. 

The State Patrol responded to the two-vehicle crash shortly after 3:30 Wednesday afternoon.

An SUV and pick-up truck collided at the intersection of Hwy. 63 and 18th Ave. Northwest/Olmsted County Rd. 12.

The SUV was northbound on 18th Ave. when it entered into the path of the eastbound pick-up, the state crash report indicates.  

87-year-old Anthony Victor Steinman was identified as the SUV driver. The State Patrol says the Rochester man was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

85-year-old Florence Christina Steinman of Rochester was riding in the SUV. She escaped the crash uninjured. 

The State Patrol identified the pick-up driver as 19-year-old Makenna Madison Kranz of Rochester. She was also uninjured in the crash. 

All three were wearing their seatbelts and alcohol was not involved in the crash, according to the state crash report. 

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office and Mayo Clinic Ambulance also responded to the crash.
