Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Two men are in custody in connection to a knife-point robbery reported in Rochester last week.

Rochester Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson said Monday morning that the robbery was reported around 1:00 Friday afternoon. 

The victim, described as a male, reported being robbed at knife point in the back of a car.

Rochester Police Arrest Two Men After Report of Knife-Point Robbery in Car

Grayson says the alleged robbery occurred at the intersection of 56th St. and 52nd Ave. Northwest.

The police report indicates the victim told officers an acquaintance, identified as 30-year-old Mohamed Mumin, attacked him and held a knife to his throat.

The Rochester man then took the victim’s money and other belongings, Grayson says. 

44-year-old Martin Mayotte of Rochester was later identified as the driver of the car. The victim told officers Mayotte threatened to kill him if he did not comply, according to the police report.

Grayson says officers found and arrested both men on suspicion of felony charges a short time later. 

Olmsted County Adult Detention Center records indicate both men were booked into the jail shortly after 2 p.m. They are awaiting arraignment in Olmsted County Court.
