Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man with an extensive history involving vehicle thefts has added another conviction to his criminal record.

Court records show 50-year-old Garrick Sneed already had more than two dozen theft-related convictions on his record dating back to 1992. He has now entered into a plea agreement involving four additional cases that were filed against him in 2022.

In the first case, the criminal complaint says he was caught attempting to steal a truck from a property along Marion Road Southeast in late March 2022. The court document says a Rochester police officer was called to the multi-unit residential building and found the truck connected to an SUV by a yellow tow strap.

The charges indicate the responding officers found Sneed at the scene and he told them he was acting on the behalf of another man who worked for a local towing company. The court record says he was arrested after police learned the other man had stopped working for the towing company more than a year ago.

The two other cases involved the thefts of multiple vehicles from a parking lot near the Riverview Suites Apartments along Civic Center Drive Northeast in late August. According to the criminal complaint, one of the vehicles was found in the possession of Sneed's father-in-law and three others were also found at Bob's Trailer Park in southeast Rochester.

Under the terms of the plea agreement worked out with Sneed earlier in the week, he entered a guilty plea to a felony vehicle theft charge connected to the attempted theft of the truck in March. He also admitted to a misdemeanor theft charge for stealing power tools from a northwest Rochester business in June.

He was originally charged with a felony in that case. The Olmsted County Attorney's Office also agreed to dismiss three felony charges connected to the vehicle thefts from the Riverview Suites Apartments.

Sneed is scheduled to be sentenced in May. The plea deal calls for a sentence in the lower range of state sentencing guidelines based on his conviction and criminal record.
