Cambridge, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Minnesota law enforcement officer is being commended today for coming to the rescue of a bear cub.

The incident occurred Sunday evening in Isanti County. The Isanti County Sheriff's Ofiice says Deputy Damion Kosmosky and a good Samaritan saved the cub after it wandered into traffic on Highway 65 in an area north of Cambridge. The young bear was then brought to a wooded area where it was reunited with its mother and another cub.

A Facebook post by the Sheriff's Office stressed that, "though this incident and that positively we do not recommend the our residents handle wild animals." It also encourages people to bring in birdfeeders and keep trash contained and off the curb until garbage collection day due to the number of your sightings in the Cambridge area.
