
Access to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester to Be Restored as Road Work Continues
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Road work near St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester is set to progress into its next phase.

2nd St. SW has been closed from 12th Ave. SW through 14th Ave. SW. since June 8 to accommodate construction work on the Link Bus Rapid Transit Line.
The work involves a tunnel to connect the Mayo Clinic facility to a future station.

The road closure limited access to St. Mary’s Hospital. Patients and visitors were advised to access it from the south using 6th St. SW and 14th Ave. SW.

14th Ave. SW was temporarily converted to a one-way northbound street during morning commuting hours on the weekdays. Rochester police have been in the area conducting traffic control.
Part of 2nd St. SW and 14th Ave. SW Intersection to Reopen Monday
Beginning on Monday the intersection of 2nd St. SW and 14th Ave. SW will reopen. 2nd St. SW Vehicle traffic will be able to access 14th Ave. SW and St. Mary’s hospital from the west.
Also starting Monday, a portion of northbound 14th Ave. SW will be closed between the Mary Brigh entrance on the west side of St. Mary’s and 2nd St. SW.
Mayo Clinic’s construction website indicates the closure will be in place until the late Summer. 14th Ave. SW will be fully open to single-lane, southbound traffic.
The closure of 2nd St. SW near St. Mary’s Hospital is scheduled to wrap up in the late Summer, according to Mayo Clinic.
