20-year-old Elliott Christian Volk is charged with terroristic threats and felony fifth-degree assault.
The charges say Volk had been in an argument with the mother of his children and had reportedly left her at a Target store in Rochester before arriving at the home with the babysitter and children.
The victim said she and Volk were arguing about the children’s diapers and that Volk threw diapers at her. She responded by throwing water on Volk multiple times, the complaint says.

Volk then produced a pocket knife and began chasing the victim around the home, the charges allege.
She told police she ran into the kitchen then fell and that Volk stood over her and made jabbing motions towards her with the knife, the complaint states. The victim also said Volk threw a plate at her, which shattered on the floor.
The charges also say Volk was seen with the knife and that officers found the knife in Volk’s vehicle.
Rochester Man Accused of Threatening Babysitter Has Criminal History
Volk admitted to producing the knife. He claimed it was an act of self defense that was prompted by the victim throwing hot water on him, the complaint says.
Responding officers found a discarded plastic water bottle in the entry way of the apartment. The victim, who disputed Volk’s claim that the water was hot, identified the bottle as the one she used to throw water on Volk, the court document says.
Court records indicate Volk has two prior convictions for violating a Domestic Abuse No Contact Order. He was released without bail following his first court appearance and is due back in court next month.
