Rochester Meth Purchasing Sting Results in Arrest Warrant for Homeless Woman, Charges for Racine, MN Resident
Court documents say a confidential informant told an investigator with the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office that they could buy methamphetamine from 42-year-old Cassia Nisan Chaney-Smith.
Law enforcement outfitted the informant with a recording device and the informant met Chaney Smith for the purchase.
The informant then purchased 28.6 grams of a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine during their meeting with Chaney-Smith, the charges say.
33-year-old Coty Marie Bredesen of Racine was with Chaney-Smith at the time of the controlled buy, the complaints say.
An arrest warrant issued for Chaney-Smith charges her with one count of first-degree drug sales and a count of second-degree drug possession.
The state requested an arrest warrant for Chaney-Smith because her last listed address was homeless and her current whereabouts are unknown.
Bredson is facing the same charges and is due to make her first court appearance in April.
