Parkin said the deputy reported a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and asked the driver, identified as 21-year-old Kade Gostomczick of Maplewood, MN, to exit the vehicle. The deputy initiated a search and found 337 grams of suspected marijuana wax, 418 grams of suspected marijuana, 254 grams of suspected mushrooms, 3.5 grams of suspected meth and marijuana vape cartridges.

Parkin said the materials seized in the search suggest Gostomczick used the suspected wax to fill the vape cartridges for selling purposes. Olmsted County Adult Detention Center records indicate Gostomczick was booked on suspicion of felony drug possession, fourth-degree drug sales and introducing contraband into a correctional facility.

Gostomczick’s first appearance in Olmsted County Court has not yet been scheduled.
