Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - Another federal law enforcement officer in Minnesota is facing a federal child pornography charge.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for Minnesota today announced that U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officer Anthony John Crowley has been charged with possession of child pornography. It is alleged that the 52-year-old Minnetonka man knowingly possessed “one or more matters which contained visual depictions of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct.”

“In recent months, we have seen a rash of agents, officers, and public officials engaging in crimes against children,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Joseph H. Thompson. “Let there be no misunderstanding: The U.S. Attorney’s Office has zero tolerance for people in positions of trust and authority who abuse children. Zero.”

Details about the allegations against Crowley have not yet been released. He made an initial appearance before a magistrate at the federal courthouse in Minneapolis today and was ordered to remain in custody pending further court proceedings.

Earlier this week, federal prosecutors announced charges against a Department of Homeland Security investigative officer. Court documents state that 51-year-old Timothy Ryan Gregg of Eagan—who also served as a Task Force Officer with the FBI—was charged with the production of child pornography following an investigation by the Rochester Police Department and the FBI.
