
Rochester Sees Second Shooting in Under 24 Hours, Suspect Captured
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A woman is in custody in connection with a shooting that occurred at a Rochester home on Tuesday.

It’s the second shooting reported within a 24 hour window in the city. A shooting in northwest Rochester Monday night resulted in a man suffering a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
As of Wednesday morning no arrests have been announced and police have not shared any updates.

Woman Arrested Following Second Shooting in Under 24 Hours in Rochester, MN
The second shooting reported in under 24 hours happened around 9:40 Tuesday night.
A post on the Rochester Police Department’s Facebook page says officers responded to the report of gunfire in the 700 block of 7th Ave. Southeast, which is about two blocks away from Riverside Elementary.
A woman told officers that she was shot at by a person she knows following a verbal exchange.
The apparent shooting suspect was identified as 28-year-old Mercedes Meyers of Rochester.
Police found and arrested Meyers at her home in the 1700 block of 50th St. Northwest, the Facebook post says.
Police say Meyers is expected to face felony assault charges. Olmsted County Court records indicate could make her first court appearance in the shooting case as soon as Wednesday morning.
No injuries were reported in the shooting, police say.
