Harris, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities in east-central Minnesota have released the identities of the three people found shot to death over the weekend.

The Chisago County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in Fish Lake Township Sunday morning. Deputies were dispatched to the at the request of a family member who had not been able to reach the occupants of the residence.

Upon arrival, deputies found three people dead from apparent gunshot wounds. The victims have been identified as 73-year-old Darrel Mattson, 68-year-old Denise Mattson and 47-year-old Kirk Mattson. 

The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office described the deaths as a homicide. A news release from the Chisago County Sheriff’s Office says the gun used in the shootings was not found in the home. 

Investigators say a person of interest in the shooting was found dead at a different location on Saturday. Their name will be released pending family notification and an autopsy. 

Officials say the deadly shooting is not believed to be a random incident and that there’s no evidence to suggest an ongoing danger to public safety. The deadly shootings are under investigation. A time of the Mattson deaths, along with the death of the person of interest is not yet available.
