Faribault, MN (KROC-AM News)- The State Patrol has released more information about the semi truck crash that prompted the closure of Interstate 35 near Faribault Thursday

Officials closed southbound I-35 after the semi overturned about seven miles north of Faribault. 

Southbound motorists were routed off the interstate at the Millersburg Blvd. interchange.

Drivers then rejoined I-35 at the Lyndale Ave. North interchange in FaribaultThe interstate closed shortly before noon and was reopened by 2:45 p.m.

North Mankato Man Injured After Semi Overturns on I-35 Near Faribault

The State Patrol has identified the truck driver as 40-year-old Patrik James Hoffman of North Mankato. 

Hoffman was traveling south when he collided with median posts, causing the semi to stop and fall onto its driver side, the state crash report says. The crash occurred shortly after 11:30 a.m. 

Hoffman was brought to North Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.

He was not wearing a seatbelt and was not under the influence of alcohol, the state crash report says. 

The Faribault Police Department and Rice County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the overturned semi.
