
Winona County Dive Team Joins Search for Missing Man
Fountain City, WI (KROC-AM News) - The Winona County Sheriff's Office is assisting Wisconsin authorities in the search for a missing man.

According to Winona County authorities, the Sheriff's Office's dive and search teams are participating in an effort to locate the owner of a boat that was found unattended on the Wisconsin side of the Mississippi River this morning. The Buffalo County Sheriff's Office in Wisconsin says preliminary evidence indicates the boat ran out of gas and was found tied off along the shoreline near Merrick State Park, which is located in the backwaters of the river just north of Fountain City.

The Sheriff's Office is requesting the public's help in the search effort and is asking if anyone provided a ride to a stranded boater or was in that area, or if anyone was seen walking in the vicinity of the state park.
The man's name has not been released, but the news release included a photo.
