Rochester, MN (RochesterNow)- The Rochester Fire Department fought a garage fire Thursday afternoon.

A news release issued by the fire department says crews responded to the blaze shortly after 2:45 p.m. 

Firefighters saw smoke and fire coming from the detached garage in southeast Rochester upon their arrival.

Rochester Fire Department Extinguishes Detached Garage Fire in Southeast Rochester

The fire broke out in the 1100 block of 7th Ave. SE. Firefighters used a gas-powered saw to cut open the garage door and ventilate the structure during the firefight. 

The fire was contained to the detached garage, the news release says. 

No Injuries Reported

No firefighter or civilian injuries were reported. Officials say the interior of the garage and its contents suffered fire damage. 

The cause of the fire is not available. The Rochester Fire Marshals Division responded to document the scene.

Mayo Clinic Ambulance and the Rochester Police Department also responded to the garage fire.
