Ding ding ding! We have another huge winner with the Iowa Lottery on our side of the state.

Down in southeast Iowa, a woman is now six-figures richer after winning a huge cash prize from the Iowa Lottery. She scored this massive prize by playing the Powerball and it was all thanks to a $1 decision.

Burlington, Iowa Woman Wins Massive Powerball Prize

Congrats to the latest winner on the eastern side of Iowa on scoring $100,000 from the Iowa Lottery playing the Powerball.

Iowa Lottery officials say that Anita Kent added the Power Play option to her Powerball ticket, and won a $100,000 prize from Wednesday's Powerball drawing. Adding that Power Play option only cost her $1 which helped her winnings total up to $100,000.

Kent matched four white balls and the Powerball. The added Power Play multiplied her initial $50,000 prize to $100,000.

Kent purchased her winning ticket at Liquor Land, 600 S. Main St. in Burlington. She wasn't the only Iowan to score a big Powerball prize in the past week.

Anders Carlson of Forest City won a $50,000 Powerball prize in the Oct. 16 drawing. He purchased his winning ticket at Kwik Star, 806 U.S. Highway 69 N. in Forest City, and claimed his prize Oct. 18 at the lottery's regional office in Mason City.

Richard Vogt, 47 on Long Grove, was on his way to claim a $1,000 lottery prize when he won again, according to lottery officials. This time, the amount involved was even bigger.

Vogt won both prizes, of $1,000 and $10,000, in the Iowa Lottery's "Hit the Jackpot!" InstaPlay game. He purchased both winning tickets at Hy-Vee, 4064 E. 53rd St. in Davenport.

Vogt said he bought the first winning ticket on his daughter's birthday, thinking that would bring him luck. Then before he drove to the lottery office to claim that first prize, he bought another ticket in the same game, this time with even better results.

"I have to say I've been pretty lucky, pretty fortunate," Vogt said.

Vogt's good fortune comes at a great time. He works at a manufacturing facility that is currently idled because of a slowdown in business.

"It's definitely a lot of relief, especially with the holidays coming up," he said of his win.

Congrats to Anita and Richard on winning big!
