On June 12th, Cedar Rapids police attempted to pull over a pickup truck and motorcycle duo travelling on Highway 100 after spotting the truck taking videos of the motorcycle doing dangerous stunts.

The driver of the pickup truck stopped, but the motorcycle driven by Ward went on down the highway in an attempt to get away from officers. Ward led police on a high-speed chase that ended on 18th Street SW.

During the chase, Iowa State Patrol's Air Wing was used to lead police officers to the hiding spot Ward was using to elude officers. During the chase, the Air Wing was tracking the speed of the motorcycle, which reached a maximum speed of 177 miles per hour on Highway 100 and Higway 30.

In the end, Ward was sentenced to three years of probation.
