
The Underrated Best Parts of Winter in Minnesota
As Minnesotans, we always like to complain about winter. However, I have to say, I always feel like a BA when I'm surviving a Minnesota winter. Is that weird? The rest of the country could NEVER deal with this, but here we are thriving (or at least surviving).
This winter has, to be honest, been kind of a letdown. Yeah, the occasional 40 degrees feels nice, but when it's winter, I want it to actually be cold and for the snow to stay on the ground.
But I digress. There are certain parts of winter that, even winter haters have to agree, are quite nice.
Stick with me here, and I'm sure you'll agree with at least some of these.

The Best Parts About Winter in Minnesota
Fresh snow is beautiful.
After the snow has fallen and it's all still perfectly white... there's nothing quite like it.
It can be so quiet.
Especially after a fresh snowfall, the quiet afterwards is hard to describe.
The sound of snow crunching.
When you say 'the sound of snow crunching', everyone who has ever walked on snow knows exactly what you're talking about.

Kicking the junk off the back of your tires.
Especially when it comes off in one piece. *chef's kiss*
When the snow is falling in big chunks, and it looks like you're in a snowglobe.
When the snow comes down slowly in big chunks, I could sit by the window and watch it all day.
The super fun events that get us out in the cold.
Any events that get us out of our house and into the cold are always a different kind of fun.
How bright it is at night after a fresh snowfall.
After a fresh snowfall, at night, everything is so bright! And that's because the tiny ice crystals that form snowflakes reflect any light from things like streetlights back up and make everything look a lot brighter.
Zero bugs.
No one can argue with this one.
You feel like you can handle anything.
This is like what I mentioned earlier. After dealing with a Minnesota winter, you kind of feel unstoppable.
Feeling like you earned it when spring arrives.
In a similar vein, when spring finally arrives, you totally feal like you've earned it.
