Minnesota’s Favorite Christmas Cookie is a Classic

Without fail, every holiday season, I'm shopping for gifts, going to holiday events, having a great time, and then Christmas comes, and I realize I never ended up making any Christmas cookies. Oops!

It's extra funny because I love to bake, but I think the holiday season just gets so busy that it slips my mind.

If you love to bake cookies every holiday season, is there one particular type that you always do? When I was growing up, we'd always make classic cut-out cookies, and then that evening it was a big event with my brother, myself, and my parents decorating the cookies together.

Cut-out cookies, however, are NOT Minnesota's favorite Christmas cookie! It's actually a kind of cookie that I don't remember my mom ever making, but I know that it's very popular amongst other families.

The baby company Chicco analyzed Google search trends to determine the Christmas cookies each state likes the most.

For Minnesota, our favorite Christmas cookie is the peanut butter kiss cookie (also known as peanut butter blossoms).

Considering how often I hear about people having those over the holidays, that makes sense!

The Most Popular Christmas Cookie in the US

As for the most popular Christmas cookie across the US, that would be Italian wedding cookies (also known as Snowballs).

I've definitely seen these and probably had a couple in my lifetime, but it's not a must-have for me personally. What about you?
