A few months ago, I wrote about a dog from Paws and Claws Humane Society named Winnie who had escaped. After a month of hard work, they were finally able to capture her and bring her back to the shelter.

Just a few days ago she was adopted. Yay! She was going home with people who already had confident dogs at home who could show her the ropes. But, sadly, she has now escaped her new home and they're asking for our help to find her.

Paws and Claws Humane Society Dog Escaped

Paws and Claws writes in their post about her escape, "we had worked with the adopters and had our trainer meet with the adopters and also had them meet Winnie twice before we let her go home."

"Please don’t point fingers, this is upsetting enough of a situation as it is."

I don't know the full story as to what happened in her new home, maybe Paws and Claws knows something they aren't sharing with the public, but I'm operating on the assumption that her new family was trying their best to keep her safe and because she's so scared she managed to escape anyway.

I'm going to believe (unless proven otherwise) that her adopters were doing their best. She is just having a really tough time adjusting to a new life and is a proven escape artist.

Many comments on their post seem to agree with me.

One person writes, "I am a long time rescuer, and I once had one like that. No matter what, she managed to destroy fences, climb them."

Another says, "I feel bad for the adopters. No matter how hard you try some pups are experienced escape artists. I have been in their shoes. It is heart breaking and scary."

Winnie got loose in Plainview, so if you're in that area, please be on the lookout for her. She's very skittish and scared so if you see her it's best to not approach and just contact Paws and Claws at 507-288-7226.
