Rockford, Illinois police are asking the public to help locate this suspect vehicle involved in a hit-and-run with a cyclist.  Have you seen it?

After reading the story that a 61-year-old Rockford man was riding his bicycle when he was hit by a car on Friday, September 15th, 2023, it makes me so nervous for anybody else who bikes around Rockford near busy intersections.

Here's what happened:

Approximately 8:26am on Friday, September 15th, 2023, Rockford Police responded to a call at the 5500 block of E State Street for a traffic crash involving a car and bicyclist.  After the 61-year-old cyclist was hit, the 1997-1997 tan Toyota Camry, fled the scene.  The cyclist was transported to the hospital where he is in critical condition.

Photos have now been released to the public of the tan Toyota Camry.

As you can see here, there is heavy damage to the windshield on the driver's side of the vehicle.  Pretty identifiable!

It's roughly a 1997-1999 tan Toyota Camry officers are searching for.
