She performed in Rochester Sunday night and now Lindsay Ell has posted a heartfelt note of thanks to the Med City on social media.

If you didn't get a chance to stop by Mayo Park Sunday night for the kickoff to the 2021 Down By The Riverside Concert series, you missed a GREAT show! First, it was incredibly cool to actually get to take part in live events again, after having pretty much EVERYTHING canceled in 2020.

So, seeing as we'd all been waiting for over a year for any live music made it a special night right off the bat. But in Lindsay Ell's case, it was a wait that was actually two years in the making. If you recall, she was already booked to play Down By The Riverside here in Rochester back in 2019. But severe weather that Sunday (complete with thunderstorms and even a few tornadoes) canceled her performance. The thinking was that she'd hopefully be able to come back in 2020. But, we all know what happened then.

In the meantime, Lindsay added another wrinkle: She has been sporting a walking boot on her right foot for the past month. What's up with that? Well, she ended up breaking her foot earlier this summer, chasing her dog, Hendrix, after she jumped off their tour bus. She landed wrong, and, viola, touring just got tougher.

But she made it here to southeast Minnesota and put on a really great show Sunday. And, the response from the over 2500 fans at Mayo Park was something she noted in a post on her Instagram page too.

Rochester, wow. You really showed up last night. For a show that was supposed to happen two years ago… when we pulled up to the venue and couldn’t play because of a tornado warning, then covid, and now after three rescheduled dates, to finally come and headline this show…I truly felt the love last night. 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Of course, Lindsay is just the latest celebrity to walk the streets of Rah-Rah-Rochester (check out her Facebook post below of Lindsay and her dog in Mayo Park Sunday before the show) but she's not the only famous face who's been here.
