I'm the type of guy that puts Frank's hot sauce, sriracha, or jalapeños on pretty much everything I eat, so when I saw there was a pepper eating contest coming up I had to learn more.

The event is called the Macho Man/Women Pepper Eating Competition and is actually coming up this weekend. It is open to the public but, if you think your tastebuds are up for the challenge and want to participate, you have to be one of the first 10 people to show up Saturday morning at 8:30 am. Now, I'm not exactly sure what types of peppers contestants will be eating but I did see that you have to sign a waiver so I'm guessing they pack a punch!

Roasted Bliss Coffee Shop is organizing the event this Saturday morning (April 10th) in Rochester to promote their cheddar jalapeño bread which I've never had but sounds pretty good.

The Macho Man/Women Pepper Eating Competition will take place in the lot behind Roasted Bliss which is located at 2550 S Broadway in Rochester. Tables and chairs will be set up for spectators. Organizers estimate the event will run from 8:30 am - 9:30 am.

The last person standing will be the winner and will receive a goodie bag, free bread for a year, and bragging rights. You might not be into spicy food, but I'm willing to bet you have a friend that's all about it so make sure to share this info with them. You can learn more on the event page here.
