What You Need To Know About the Med City Marathon This Weekend in Rochester

A jam-packed weekend of fun is happening in downtown Rochester!  The Med City Marathon is back for its 29th year and everyone is encouraged to join in on the fun.

...you read that right.  EVERYONE is encouraged to come out to the Med City Marathon.  There are a lot of runners that will be showing up, but there is something for everyone this weekend in Rochester, Minnesota.  We've got the schedule of events below.

Med City Marathon Race Day Maps

PLEASE STAY ALERT!  If you are out and about this weekend in Rochester, there is a really good chance you will see people running.  If you are out driving, please pay special attention and help keep our runners and volunteers safe this weekend!

Schedule of Events for the Med City Marathon in Rochester, Minnesota

Saturday May 17, 2025

2:00 – 7:00pm | Wellness Expo on Peace Plaza and in the Historic Chateau Theatre featuring local vendors, kids activities, local artists, and more!  (See more info below)

4:00pm | GLK Orthodontics Kids Run

6:30pm | Altra Federal Credit Union 5K – you can walk or run this event – proceeds go to Ronald McDonald House

6:30 – 8:30pm | Finish Line Festival featuring live music, photography, and free beer to 21+ racers. Open to the entire community free of charge

Sunday May 18, 2025

5:20am | Race Shuttles to start line begin from Downtown Rochester pickup location

Park downtown for free and easy access to the finish with an easy shuttle to the start line.

5:30am | Race Day Packet Pick Up opens @ start line

7:00am | ActivePT Med City Full Marathon, Relay and GPC Rochester Half Marathon Race Start

7:15am | 20 Mile start

9:00am | Finish Line Festival

Finish line fest for racers and community to celebrate your accomplishments including live music, hydration by GPC of Rochester, and free beer to 21+ racers

9:00am | Live music starts at Finish Line Festival

1:00pm | Race festivities conclude
