We asked you to to tell us about your American Hero. Military, police, fire, EMT, teacher...someone that went above and beyond serving our community. Someone that, day in and day out, can be relied upon right down the line. Our American Hero is that and more.

Jay has been serving the Blooming Prairie area as an EMT for 20 years and as a firefighter rescue captain for 19 years. He is also a CPR instructor in our community. He is very dedicated to saving lives. He is the first to step up in any situation. Our community looks up to him. He has spent countless hours away from his family to help others. He is a true hero!

So we got Carol on the phone to tell us more, and Jay, too! Just as I expected, Jay was totally humble and certain someone else deserved the honor more.
