St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - An annual report on drug use in Minnesota shows there has been a resurgence in the use of methamphetamine.

The 2015 Drug Abuse Trends report looked at drug-related hospital admissions in the Twin Cities and found 11.8-percent of those admissions last year were for methamphetamine use. That percentage and the number of admissions are comparable to the levels that were reported a decade ago when meth use in the state was described as epidemic.

The report also found heroin accounted for a record high 14.6-percent of treatment admissions to hospitals in 2014. In 2010, heroin accounted for 7.8-percent of admissions and that percentage was only 3.3-percent in 2000.
