Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Destination Medical Center is celebrating a milestone.

The DMC Corporation Board today announced that One Discovery Square in downtown Rochester is now fully leased. Thermo Fisher Scientific, Cytoheryx, and Exact Sciences have committed to leases for the last of the remaining space in the building along 4th Street Southwest, joining Mayo Clinic, University of Minnesota Rochester, Epic, Philips, Boston Scientific, RION, WuXi Diagnostics, and Café Steam as tenants in the facility built and operated by the Mortenson Company.

Mortenson is currently constructing Two Discovery Square immediately to the south of One Discovery Square. The project began last year and is scheduled to be completed in 2022.

The DMC Corporation Board also reviewed the planning documents for the Waterfront Small Area Plan that were recently endorsed by the Rochester City Council and was presented with a new downtown retail recruitment strategy. A DMC news release says it “focuses on recruiting and retaining businesses with a mix of retail, dining, and entertainment to maintain a resilient and vibrant downtown for residents, workers and visitors.”

The next meeting of the DMC Corporation Board is scheduled to take place in late September. The agenda will include the consideration of 2022 funding requests.
