The author of a respected economic report says the data points to continued healthy economic growth in Minnesota for the next three to six months.

Creighton University Professor Ernie Goss notes the findings of the monthly Mid-America Business Conditions Survey also show “the Minnesota Economy is expanding at the fastest pace in the region.” The state’s overall economic index fell slightly last month, but remained healthy at 60.1. A year ago, Minnesota’s overall economic index was 57.7.

The strongest components of the state’s index for January were new orders at 66.2 and production or sales at a very robust 70.4.

Any index reading above 50 is an indicator of future growth and Minnesota’s index has now been above 50 for 26 consecutive months.
