St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is predicting a spectacular fall color season.

DNR spokeswoman Patricia Arndt says current weather conditions indicate the state is on track for a great fall color year with most of Minnesota enjoying close to or above average precipitation.

The agency posted the season’s first online fall color finder report on the DNR website Thursday and will update it weekly through the autumn season. The online tool includes a map showing where to find peak colors, a link to programs and special events, slideshow and a photo uploader that provides people and easy way to share their favorite fall color photographs.

The fall colors typically peak between mid-September and early October across the northern third of Minnesota, between late September and early October in the central third, and between late September and mid-October in the southern third of the state.
