St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - The past week has been the deadliest of the pandemic in Minnesota.

The State Health Department today reported another 67 coronavirus-related deaths throughout Minnesota. That is the lowest daily count in four days but raised the COVID death toll for the past to 439, and the state's overall death toll from the pandemic to almost 4360. Three of the deaths reported today involved Olmsted County residents and raised the pandemic death toll in the Rochester area to 45.

The local residents whose deaths were reported today ranged in age from their late 60s into their late 80s. Statewide, the youngest person listed in the report was in their early 40s and lived in Mille Lacs County.

The health department reported just under 4500 new confirmed and probable COVID-19 infections across Minnesota from Friday when just over 46,500 tests were completed. The daily testing positivity rate was 9.5-percent. 81 of the new cases were found in Olmsted County.

The state does not update the coronavirus hospitalization statistics during the weekend.
