A Minnesota woman shared her nerve-shattering experience in which a man had her "cornered near my car in broad daylight" in a Lakeville parking lot offering her money to "come with him." Luckily, the woman was able to get in her vehicle, lock the doors, and call the police. Her advice to women in 'affluent' cities here in Minnesota -- be aware of your surroundings.

According to the woman's post, she "was shopping at Home Goods in Lakeville, MN near Target right off of 35 at 4:30 pm." While she was putting the items that were purchased in the backseat of her vehicle she turned around to return her cart. It was then that she realized there was a man standing in front of her. The woman states that the man was "wearing a black tea coat, black hoodie, and carrying a black backpack." The man also was not wearing a mask so his facial features were identifiable.

The post states that after the man said hello to the woman he then told her that she "was the most beautiful thing he has ever seen, and I look exactly like his girlfriend with the blonde hair and blue eyes."

The woman states the man then "offered her $200 to come with him."

The woman stated that she "was cornered near my car in broad daylight and this man started making his way towards me." After telling the mysterious man no, the woman then got into her car "as fast as she possibly could" and "locked the doors while he started walking swiftly towards the front of my car seeming as though he was going to try to get in on the passenger side." It was when the male "heard the doors lock he changed his direction and started walking around the parking lot."

The female then called the Lakeville Police to notify them of the odd and terrifying experience. (I reached out to the Lakeville Police Department for comment and a copy of the report that was mentioned in the post.)

According to the woman, Lakeville Police were "able to take [the man] into custody." I filed a report with the Lakeville Police Department. Lakeville Police told the woman at the time that "they have dealt with this man in the past".

The main reason stated for this Minnesota woman to share her experience was to tell other women to be aware of their surroundings as "Sex and Human trafficking is very real and happening in places you least expect."

The post goes on to state "That area is a hot spot right now due to its easy access to the freeway and women normally making trips alone to those specific stores. Please take the time to educate yourself and others on how this heinous crime is affecting millions of people of all ages around the world. Recognize the signs and actively work to prevent it as much as you can. When you read about these stories you never think it’s going to happen to you, and I pray no one has to experience what I did. Please share with people you know, those you don’t, and constantly be aware of what is going around you. I cannot emphasize that enough."
