He's one of the most visible ambassadors of the University of Minnesota, and he's just won another national championship!

He is, of course, Goldy Gopher, and according to a post on the University of Minnesota's website, he just won the title in the Mascot division at the recent 2018  College Cheerleading And Dance Team National Championships in Orlando, Florida!

Here's how the U described the event:

The lovable Goldy Gopher led the way claiming a national title in the mascot division. This is the second straight national championship for Goldy, following up on a second-place finish in 2016.

And, his teammates also placed well, against some of the best colleges in the country:

Minnesota's dance team turned in another strong performance as it took second in both the Pom and Jazz divisions. Minnesota won the previous eight Pom titles and has now finished in the top two in Jazz each of the last three years.

Minnesota also placed second in Cheer Game Day and fourth in All Girl Game Day. The Gophers all-girl cheer team finished sixth, while co-ed ended the competition in 11th place.

So, can the Vikings channel Goldy's championship ways against the Eagles this weekend? Here's hoping they can!
