LOUISVILLE, KY (Townsquare Media/WJON) — A woman who was considered missing as part of a suspicious death case in St. Cloud this week was found and arrested out-of-state today.
On Monday, police arrived at a home in the 300 block of 21st Avenue North on a welfare check and found a dead body. A search then went out for 38-year-old Lisa Kearney and a blue pickup truck thought to be part of the case.

Assistant Chief Jeff Oxton says Kearney was found in Louisville, KY and was arrested on suspicion of second degree murder.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the body as Kearney’s father, 66-year-old Jeffrey Schilling of St. Cloud. Charging records show the two were living together at the home and had a strained relationship.

Authorities believe an assault led to Schilling’s death on either January 1st or 2nd of this year. Investigators concluded the victim died from head injuries caused by the assault and a short handled maul was found at the scene.

According to the criminal complaint, Kearney fled to Louisville with some of Schilling’s property, including his wallet.

Kearney appeared in court on Wednesday in Louisville where she reportedly refused to waive extradition back to Minnesota. She remains in custody with bail set at $250,000 and authorities say formal extradition proceedings will begin immediately.
