Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) – The National Association of Minority Contractors Upper-Midwest announced the launching of its Rochester branch. The goal of the NAMC-UM is to build bridges by crossing barriers. The branch will level the playing field for minority businesses.

Walter L Smith III of Rochester and executive director of Everybody In MN is orchestrating the launch of the NAMC-UM chapter Rochester branch.

“The mature of NAMC’s work is about case management level capacity building and knowledge development for small businesses,” Smith said. “(We want to help create partnerships) similar to the U.S Bank Stadium project’s Vikings Stadium Consortium where larger contractors partner with smaller, minority-owned businesses.”

The NAMC-UM will launch the Rochester branch with an event Thursday, June 20th from 4 - 6 pm at One Discovery Square, 202 4th ST SW in Rochester.

“I’m excited by the opportunities to work together by creating pathways for the changing demographic populations here in Rochester,” Smith said.
