Today is a special day! So, find some time to enjoy a sticky, gooey, sweet treat today, made with three simple ingredients; chocolate, graham crackers and marshmallows. Yes, you guessed it... a S’more! Today (August 10) is National S'mores Day!

I learned some very fascinating information about s’mores from a post on www.punchbowl.com.

”The first official s’mores recipe was published in the Girl Scout Handbook in 1927, but culinary historians believe that the tradition began much earlier.”

“Ever wondered why it is called a s’more? Because you’ll always want ‘“some more” of this decadent sweet!”

Nowadays, there are so many interesting variations, like Reese's Peanut Butter cups, or Nutella Spread instead of melted chocolate! Or, maybe add some bananas, strawberries or Peanut Butter! Yum! Get Creative!

Also, if you don’t have a bonfire, you can make a s’more in a toaster oven or a microwave!

What different variations of s’mores have you tried?
