A new downtown Rochester breakfast and lunch restaurant is opening June 24th in the new Hilton Hotel!  It's called Benedict's Rochester and will feature eight varieties of Eggs Benedict and brunch, too. If you're a third-shifter, there's something for you, too. A morning happy hour!

I got in touch with Benedict's and asked a few questions...

JAMES: Tell me about your menu.

BENEDICTS: We offer the classics with a twist. Inventive pancakes like the pineapple upside down pancake and the s'more pancake with house-made marshmallow topping, decadent sandwiches like the Ruben with our own pastrami from our downtown Mpls restaurant Mercy Bar and Dining Room, tater-tot hashes (breakfast hash but with tatter-tots), and 8 varieties of Eggs Benedict.

J: I think you had all of us at s'more pancakes. How about the benedicts...

B: The Classic is, of course, a crowd favorite but GF folks can look forward to falling in love with our Cubano Benedict featuring a gluten-free arepa stuffed with cheese smothered in black beans, carnitas and topped with hollandaise. Other Benedict offerings include crab, steak, cured salmon and even fried chicken!

J:  Chef Mike Rakun's has locations all over...why Rochester?

B - Benedict's Rochester will be our 4th addition to the restaurant group the includes Benedict's Wayzata, Mill Valley Kitchen, and Mercy Bar and Dining Room. The move into Rochester is something we've long envisioned as we grow. It's a vibrant, growing city with a great community feeling. We're really looking forward to making new and lasting relationships with the people of Rochester.
