Owatonna, MN (KROC-AM News) - One of the men charged in the connection with a recent homicide in the Owatonna area made a brief appearance Thursday in Steele County Court.

36-year-old Gerald Blevins pleaded not guilty to a charge of aiding and abetting second-degree murder. He remains jailed on $750,000 conditional bail.

According to the charges, the Bemidji man was with 24-year-old Cyrus Trevino when he allegedly shot and killed 22-year-old Richard Jurgenson “execution style” along a rural road northeast of Owatonna on June 25th. Investigators say Trevino, who is from Owatonna, mistakenly believed the Medford man was a police informant.
