The struggle to get kids off the couch and away from Fortnite and Minecraft is real.  I'm a mom in Minnesota with two boys at home and hear the words, "fire!", "let's go", and all the latest slang I don't understand.  It is so confusing!

Giant Gym in the United States Now Offering Free Memberships

If you missed the huge news, a giant gym in the United States, Planet Fitness, has announced that they are now offering FREE summer memberships to teens aged 14-19.  It's not a gimmick, and your teen isn't getting wrapped into some monthly membership fee.  The program is called High School Summer Pass.

High School Summer Pass is Back at Planet Fitness Locations in Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin

Since 2019, Planet Fitness has been bringing this free program for teens to help promote youth health and wellness.  Over $200 million in waived membership dues have happened for teens in communities all over the United States with the goal of improving teens' physical and mental health.

Everything You Need To Know About the Free Membership For Teenagers at Planet Fitness

Getting teenagers signed up for the free membership at Planet Fitness is SO much easier than most forms we have to fill out for our kids.  You can't just bring an address label for this one but you can do it online, which means you can fill this out right now. #wink 

Signing your teen up is super easy. Here's the lowdown:

WHO GETS A FREE MEMBERSHIP:  Teens ages 14-19

WHERE: Any Planet Fitness in the US (but teens can only use the location they sign up at during the summer program)

WHEN: Free workouts have already started and run through August 31st

HOW TO SIGN UP: Teens under 18 need a parent or guardian to sign a waiver online (here) or in-club (but the parent/guardian doesn't have to be there for workouts)

But wait, there's more!  Parents, if you scroll all the way to the bottom of the High School Summer Pass page, you'll see a note that says, "PARENTS JOIN THE FUN". Looks like Planet Fitness has a free day pass for you too.  It's not for an entire summer but hey, it's something free, and that is hard to find right now in our world.
