When I was a kid, my mom always planted bright orange and yellow marigolds in the flower beds.  I HATED them!

The smell.  The colors.

There were so many other gorgeous flowers that could have been planted but my mom always picked the gross marigolds.

Well, I was today years old when I realized why - she was trying to repel mosquitoes.

Add These Plants To Your Yard To Repel Mosquitoes This Summer

Fun Fact (that will make your skin crawl a bit) - there are over 3,000 different species of mosquitoes throughout our world.  In the Land of 10,000 Lakes, we have about 51 of those flying around.
