Rochester, MN (KROC AM News)  - The Rochester Police Department earlier announced it was investigating two suspected drug overdose deaths, but now officials say it appears a pre-existing medical condition may have been to blame for the death of one of the victims.

The body of the 35-year-old woman was found in her Northwest Rochester apartment on Monday and police found syringes in the residence, but a spokesman says they tested negative for narcotics. The cause of her death remains under investigation.

Meanwhile, police now say it is likely that a heroin overdose caused the death of a 25-year-old Chatfield man, whose body was discovered Monday evening inside a stall of a public restroom at Apache Mall. Police found syringes and other evidence of drug use next to the man’s body.
