Powerball Jackpot Hits $500,000,000

The grand prize for tonight’s Powerball game has gone up again.

 It was raised to $485 million Tuesday due to brisk ticket sales.

Wednesday morning, the jackpot’s value went up to $500 million - half a billion dollars.

This is the 5th largest lottery jackpot in US history and it has a current cash value of nearly $340 million, before taxes. It’s possible the grand prize may increase even more before Wednesday's 10 pm drawing.

Tickets will be sold through 9 pm.
