Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A former Byron man currently in prison for a drug conviction in Winona County has been sentenced to nearly 4 years in prison for a burglary conviction.

31-year-old Michael Price early entered a guilty plea to a first-degree burglary charge as part of a plea deal that resulted in the dismissal of 3 other felony charges. He is being allowed to serve the 45-month sentence concurrently with a 7 ½ year sentence he was given for a 2014 first-degree drug conviction involving methamphetamine in Winona County. That sentence was originally stayed, but Price was ordered to serve the time after his guilty plea to the burglary charge in Olmsted County Court in January.

He was arrested in January of last year following a chase and a standoff. The pursuit began when an Olmsted County deputy spotted him driving a pickup pulling a trailer at over 80 miles per hour in the Lake Zumbro area. Price eventually ditched the vehicle and trailer in a farm field and fled on foot before he stole a car out of a garage at a residence along the lake. That vehicle was later found in Wabasha County.

Authorities eventually caught up with Price at his girlfriend's home in Byron. Deputies spent several hours manning a perimeter around the residence before finally entering the house to search for Price, who was found hiding in the trunk of a car in the garage.
