Radio Station Receives Award From United Way

There was plenty to celebrate at United Way of Olmsted County’s Celebration of Caring and Giving on Tuesday night. The nonprofit announced the community reached its $4.1 million fundraising goal to support the work United Way does to improve lives with the help of community collaborations and funded partners. Nearly 300 people attended the event to celebrate the great work achieved in the last year and to recognize key individuals and groups who served as role models for what it means to LIVE UNITED.

Among those receiving awards was Townsquare Media-Rochester, home of this radio station and its five sister stations. Market President Shannon Knoepke and Operations Manager Brent Ackerman were on hand to accept the 'Exceptional Community Partner' award.

Through on-air interviews and public service announcements, Townsquare Media has helped thousands of children receive school supplies with United Way's Running Start for School program in addition to promoting the Community Winter Outerwear Drive where thousands of winter coats and accessories are collected and distributed to those in need.
